Tangent Club – User Guide

Private 1:1 Video & Interactive Toy Control
Tangent Club is built exclusively for private 1:1 connections – there are no public rooms with multiple viewers. A session always consists of exactly two people (video + optional toy control from Lovense or other brands via Buttplug.io / Intiface Central). Multiple independent 1:1 sessions can run on the platform at the same time.

1. Membership & account roles

After you register, your account type is shown in the top right of the header (next to your profile picture). It tells you what access you have and whether billing applies. You can review details and subscribe under Settings → Membership & billing or from your account menu.

Test account

Every new member starts in a free test phase (shown as Test account in the header, with a cyan badge). During this time you can use the platform — private sessions, chat, Member Pool, and interactive toy control — without being charged.

  • The test phase lasts 30 days from registration (or until the date shown in Settings → Membership & billing).
  • Before it ends, subscribe as a Member to keep access. In your account menu, choose Become a Member — this opens Settings where you can start the Member subscription and optionally add Premium.
  • If the test phase expires without a subscription, access is paused until you continue as a Member.

Member

A Member has an active platform subscription (2.95 € / month). This is required for ongoing access after the test phase: video sessions, chat, invitations, and your Member Pool contacts.

  • Your role appears as Member in the header once the paid subscription is active (or when an admin simulates this state for testing).
  • Member billing is managed in Settings → Membership & billing (customer portal for payment method and cancellation). There is no minimum term — you can cancel anytime; see Terms (AGB).
  • Members see everyone in their Member Pool under Contacts — people you have shared sessions or chat with.

Premium

Premium is an add-on on top of an active Member subscription (9.95 € one-time). It does not replace Member billing — you still need Member access for the platform itself.

  • Premium unlocks the Models section in your Member Pool — hosts marked as Model in the community.
  • Your role appears as Premium in the header (gold badge). The upgrade option Become Premium in the account menu is hidden once you already have Premium.
  • Active Members without Premium can upgrade from the account menu (Become Premium) or from Settings → Membership & billing.

Quick comparison

Role Billing Platform access Models in Member Pool
Test account Free (test phase) Yes, until test ends No
Member 2.95 € / month Yes No
Premium 9.95 € one-time add-on + Member Yes (requires Member) Yes

Note: Some accounts are exempt from billing (e.g. administrators, models, or admin-granted Free guests). Their role label reflects that status instead.

2. Invitations & Connecting with your Partner

Tangent Club is a closed, private community. Connections are built either by inviting new people to join the platform or by starting a direct session with existing members.

Inviting People to the Platform

Anyone can invite new people to join Tangent Club. You do not need to wait for an administrator to add your friends or partners.

  • Open your account menu in the top right corner (by clicking your profile picture).
  • Click Invite someone to generate an invitation link or send an invite directly.
  • Alternatively, you can go to the Sessions & calendar section and click the Send invitation via email button to invite a guest directly to the platform.

Starting or Scheduling a Session

Once your partner is registered on the platform, you can initiate a session under Setup → Sessions & calendar:

  • Instant Sessions: Select your partner from the Session with dropdown menu, click the New session button, and choose Start instant session.
  • Scheduled Sessions: If you want to plan ahead, select your partner, enter a future date and time under Scheduled start (for later / calendar), and save it. Your partner will be notified automatically.

Going Live (Quick Steps)

  1. Pick your Partner: Go to the Member Pool (right). Find your partner and double-click their card. They will instantly appear in the Partner for this session box (left).
  2. Start the Session: Click Start Instant Session right next to your partner’s card.
  3. Turn on your Camera & Mic: Select your webcam and click Start Camera. Your video feed appears immediately for both of you. Click Start Micro to enable audio.
  4. Partner Joins In: Your partner simply clicks Join Session (the button glows green when you are already live) and turns on their camera/mic.

Optional interactive toys: If you want remote control, connect your toys before starting the session — Lovense via the Chrome extension (below) or other brands via Intiface Central.

3. Interactive Toy Setup (Before Each Session)

Tangent Club supports Lovense (Chrome extension) and many other manufacturers (We-Vibe, Kiiroo, JoyHub, …) through Buttplug.io and Intiface Central. You can use one or both on the same machine — each connected toy appears as its own card under Local Test in Setup.

Lovense (Chrome extension)

The Lovense Chrome extension links your Lovense toys to your Tangent Club browser tab.

The Checklist

  1. Lovense Connect (PC/Mac): Start the desktop app, power on your toys, and confirm they show as connected.
  2. The Web Platform: Open tangent-club.com, sign in, and open the green Lovense floating menu once on that tab.
  3. Chrome Extension: Click the pink Lovense icon in Chrome. Ensure the extension is On and the cam site Tangent-Club is selected (written exactly like this, with a hyphen and capital T and C). First time only: In the extension sidebar, click + and add Tangent-Club as a cam site — then select it for this tab.
  4. Status Check: In the Setup tab of the website, confirm it says Extension ready.

Note: The “Live” label in the Chrome sidebar extension only means the site configuration is active; Extension ready on the webpage is the only indicator that the connection is working. If it fails, click Retry extension connection or reload the page.

Extension Rules — Special Commands (exact values)

In the Lovense Chrome Extension, go to Tangent-Club → Rules:

  • Basic Levels: Set to OFF. Tangent Club uses its own direct motor controls, not the extension’s automated token ranges.
  • Special Commands: Enable the commands below with these exact token amounts. Tangent Club reads your extension settings via getSettings() — if you use different numbers, patterns may fail or not stop when you uncheck a checkbox (especially Clear the Queue).
Command (as shown in extension) Tokens Checkbox Purpose on Tangent Club
Earthquake Pattern 100 ON Pattern checkbox “Earthquake”
Fireworks Pattern 120 ON Pattern checkbox “Fireworks”
Wave Pattern 160 ON Pattern checkbox “Wave”
Pulse Pattern 200 ON Pattern checkbox “Pulse”
Clear the Queue 1000 ON Required. Sent when you uncheck a pattern — stops vibration and clears the extension queue. Do not use 5555 or other values unless you change Tangent Club code too.
  • Optional: Random Level, Random Time, Pause the Queue, Give Control — may stay disabled; they are not used by Tangent Club.
  • Click the pink Save button (top right).

Tip: On Setup → Local Test the site shows a warning if your extension values do not match this table.

Other brands — Buttplug & Intiface Central

Non-Lovense toys are controlled through Intiface Central on your computer. The website connects to Intiface locally (default ws://127.0.0.1:12345) — your toy data does not pass through our servers.

  1. Install Intiface Central: Download from intiface.com/central and start the app.
  2. Pair your toy: In Intiface, connect your device via Bluetooth (or USB, depending on the toy). Confirm it shows as connected in Intiface.
  3. Connect on Tangent Club: Open tangent-club.com, sign in, go to SetupLocal Test (your toys), and click Connect Intiface (Buttplug). The status line should show Intiface connected.
  4. Status check: Your toy appears as a separate card in Local Test (alongside any Lovense toys). Use the slider or preset buttons to test vibration on your machine.

Important: Intiface must run on the same computer as your browser tab. If connection fails, click Retry Intiface connection after confirming Intiface is open and your toy is paired.

Note: Lovense-style Special Commands (Earthquake, Fireworks, …) are available for Lovense only. Buttplug devices use intensity sliders and presets (Low → Ultra) until you move the slider to 0.

4. Toy Control & Features

  • Local Test (Your Toys): Test connected toys on your own machine — Lovense and/or Intiface devices each get their own card. Sliders commit motor changes on release; presets (Low / Medium / High / Max / Ultra) apply immediately.
  • Remote Control: Once your video and data channels are active, your partner can control your toys via the Remote Control (Toys) tab. The combined toy list (Lovense + Buttplug) is shared automatically over the peer connection.
  • Profile Settings: List Lovense toys under Profile → Lovense toys (owned) so your partner knows what you have (informational only). For other brands, mention them in your bio or chat. Click Save profile before leaving.
  • Interface Customization: The Messages panel can be dragged by its title bar and resized from the corner to fit your layout.

5. The “Playbook” & “Play Mode” (Technique Requests)

The Playbook is your personal menu where you define your dynamics, kinks, and preferred interactions. It allows you and your partner to preview preferences and quickly communicate desires during a live stream.

Profile Setup (Your Preferences)

  • Activate Categories: In your My Profile tab, check the boxes under Dynamics & roles, Kink & practices, Intensity & vibe, or Create own menus. Checking a category instantly unlocks its specific action checklist in the playbook section below.
  • Select Actions: Scroll down to My Playbook and check the specific actions you want to explore (e.g., Try something new, Surprise me).
  • Custom Customization: You can build custom grouped menus (e.g., Master → Sub) and add individual custom actions (e.g., Slap ass).
  • Save: Always click the pink Save profile button at the bottom to store your setup.

Pre-Session Preview & Interaction

  • Pre-Session Preview: You can view a partner’s preferences even before a video session begins. Simply double-click their card in the Member Pool to move them into the Partner for this session box. Their enabled items will immediately become visible under the Play Mode tab on the right.
  • During a Live Stream: Once your video session is active, your partner can use this Play Mode tab to click any of your allowed actions.
  • Live Chat Notifications: Clicking an action instantly pushes it as a notification into the Live Chat history so you can react in real time. You can also select a specific Request sound (like a Harp) to play an audio cue whenever a request is sent.
  • Clearing the Selection: Clicking the Clear partner button in the Partner for this session box will instantly reset the screen, clearing both the temporary chat history and the loaded Play Mode features.

6. Camera Connections & Streaming Modes

Tangent Club offers maximum flexibility for video transport. Depending on whether you run an exclusive solo session or stream in parallel on public cam sites, you can choose between two streaming modes.

The Two Core Modes for Solo Streams

Alternative 1: The OBS Studio Mode (WHIP) – Maximum Stability

Panel Settings:
Broadcast: OBS Studio (WHIP)
Video source: Ignored in this mode

In this mode, you use the modern WHIP protocol (WebRTC-HTTP Ingestion Protocol) to stream directly from OBS to the Tangent Club server, which securely routes your feed to your partner.

  • Advantages: Rock-solid connection with buffering and stabilization, advanced production with scenes/overlays/audio routing, and reliable behavior behind restrictive firewalls.
  • Disadvantages: Higher system load because your computer must encode and compress video in real time.

Step-by-Step Configuration (WHIP)

  1. In the Tangent Club panel, set Broadcast to OBS Studio (WHIP).
  2. Copy the OBS Server (WHIP) URL and your unique OBS Bearer Token.
  3. Open Lovense Stream Master (OBS), go to Settings → Stream, set the service to WHIP, paste the server URL and Bearer Token, and click Apply.
  4. In OBS, click Start Streaming. In the Tangent Club panel, click the pink Start Camera button to go live for your partner.

Alternative 2: The Webcam Mode (no OBS) – Resource-Saving & Real-Time

Panel Settings:
Broadcast: Webcam & microphone (no OBS)
Video source: Your Hardware Webcam or OBS Virtual Camera

In this mode, Tangent Club bypasses the streaming server and uses the browser's native WebRTC engine to establish a direct peer-to-peer connection between you and your partner.

  • Advantages: Extremely lightweight, true real-time latency, and no OBS key setup.
  • Disadvantages: Connection quality depends on both sides' network and local firewall behavior.

Step-by-Step Configuration (Webcam Mode)

  1. In the Tangent Club panel, set Broadcast to Webcam & microphone (no OBS).
  2. In the Video source dropdown, select your physical webcam or OBS Virtual Camera.
  3. Click the pink Start Camera button.

Advanced: Multi-Streaming & Parallel Sessions (Recommended Workflow)

If you want to broadcast on public cam sites (e.g., Chaturbate, Stripchat) while simultaneously hosting a private 1:1 session on Tangent Club, use a hybrid setup.

The Smart Setup: Stream Master (OBS) + Virtual Camera

Instead of overloading your computer with multiple heavy server streams (RTMP to public sites plus WHIP to Tangent Club), combine Alternative 2 (Webcam Mode) with your public streaming setup. Stream by key to public sites and use OBS Virtual Camera to feed the same image into Tangent Club.

  • Advantage 1 (Performance): Your Mac/PC only encodes once for public sites; Tangent Club reads the image directly from virtual camera output.
  • Advantage 2 (Flawless Toy Control): Because Tangent Club receives a native browser webcam feed, the Lovense Chrome extension remains fully operational. Triggers from public tokens and Tangent Club sliders can run in parallel based on Highest Level Wins.

Step-by-Step Configuration for Parallel Streams

  1. Set Up Public Streaming in OBS: Configure streaming for Chaturbate/Stripchat in Lovense Stream Master (OBS), then click Start Streaming.
  2. Activate the Virtual Camera: In the bottom-right OBS control panel, click Start Virtual Camera.

Pro Tip for Privacy: Click the gear icon next to Start Virtual Camera, switch Output Type from Program to Source, and select your raw camera feed. Click Save.
  3. Connect to Tangent Club: Set Broadcast to Webcam & microphone (no OBS), choose OBS Virtual Camera as video source, then click the pink Start Camera button.

Quick Reference Summary

Your Goal / Scenario Broadcast Setting Video Source OBS Action
Exclusive Solo Stream (Highest stability) OBS Studio (WHIP) Ignored Enter WHIP URL + Token, then Start Streaming
Exclusive Solo Stream (Low CPU / Low Heat) Webcam & microphone (no OBS) Your Webcam None (OBS not required)
Parallel Streaming (Public Sites + Tangent Club) Webcam & microphone (no OBS) OBS Virtual Camera Start Streaming (public) + Start Virtual Camera

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Camera/Microphone: Check browser permissions, reload the page, and ensure the correct device is selected in the Setup tab.
  • Cannot Join Session: Ensure the host has completed the New session → Start instant session workflow and is actively live before the partner clicks Join.
  • Toys Do Not Vibrate via Sliders: Use Local Test instead of Send Test Tip (which only tests Lovense extension rules). Check the motor hint displayed directly under the toy card. For Lovense: confirm Extension ready and Basic Levels OFF. For other brands: confirm Intiface is running and Connect Intiface succeeded.
  • Buttplug / Intiface Not Connecting: Start Intiface Central first, pair the toy, then click Connect Intiface (Buttplug) on the same machine as your browser. Firewall blocking 127.0.0.1:12345 is a common cause — allow localhost WebSocket in Intiface settings if needed.
  • Server Unreachable (Development): Ensure the host is running the required API tunnel (see project technical documentation).
